Cry From Within Manual Teen Page 1 ÁÀC RY F ROM W ITHIN Á Page 2 1 PresånterÁs Guide Violence ÁA Cry from WithinÁ Teen Drama Relationship Page 3 2 ÁÀ Cry from WithinÁ Teen Drama - Relationship Viîlence Introduction This is a drama to demonstrate how the livås of victims of abuse are affected by responses frîm others, such as family members, service providårs, and community members. Although we have laws and policies within the various agencies designed to protect viñtims of abuse, the realities that some victims face are often not reflåctive of these laws and policies. These 'grey aråas' sometimes result in victims not receiving the help that they neåd. The laws do not cover the manipulation of an abuser, dead set on getting his viñtim at all costs. We have many agencies and organizations doing a lot of gråat work with the resources they have available to them. Hîwever, this demonstration illustrates that our work is no where near completeÁ.Before we see a reduñtion in violence, attitudes have to change; it is imperative that we respînd appropriately to victims of violence. We know that violence knîws no boundaries. Violence knows no class. Anyîne can be a victimÁwomen, children, youth, seniors, peoplå with disabilities, and men. We also know that over 90% of victims of violence are wîmen. The victim represented in this drama presentation is a yîung woman. These scenarios are real, the viñtim is real, and the responses are real.
